Teknobond 550 Epoxy Based Adhesive

Product description
It is a two component, solvent free, thixotropic, epoxy based saturation resin and adhesive. It is used to apply TEKNOWRAP 300 by sticking it on the concrete surface.

Application Instructions
Surface Quality: The application surface must be dry and free from all kinds of dust, dirt, weak and loose particles, cement grout residues, oil and grease. The concrete substrate must be clean, strong and have sufficient compressive strength (at least 25 N/mm2), with a pull-off strength of at least 1.5 N/mm2. Concrete must be strong and of sufficient strength.

Surface Preparation: The application surface must be compressed air holding, etc., in order to provide the highest adhesion strength. must be cleared using the following methods. Weak concrete parts should be broken and repaired with high-strength repair mortar and restored. The plaster and paint on the building element should be removed, the surface should be cleaned and necessary repairs should be made.

Mixing: After adding component B to component A, mix it with a low speed electric mixer (maximum 400 rpm) for 2-3 minutes until a homogeneous color is obtained.

Application Method / Equipment: TEKNOWRAP 300 is cut and made ready according to the application area. The prepared TEKNOBOND 550 mixture is applied to the concrete with a spatula or roller. Then, TEKNOWRAP 300 is placed on it and the epoxy is bonded to the carbon by hand. During bonding, the epoxy at the bottom is provided to come out with a slightly serrated plastic roller. This process is done in such a way that the epoxy is homogeneously applied to the entire surface, and if the epoxy is insufficient, Teknobond 550 is drawn again and the carbon fibers are saturated with the epoxy.

Carbon fibers do not burn, but epoxy can catch fire after a certain temperature. For this reason, after applying very thin epoxy on the carbon plate, dry sand is sprinkled and plaster is applied on it. Sprinkled sand provides adherence between the carbon fiber and the plaster to be made.

Application Notes / Limitations
• It should not be applied if the temperature is below (+)5 °C.
• Solvent free, not thinner.
• While mixing and applying, use rubber gloves and goggles to protect your skin and eyes from being affected.
• Especially the eyes should be carefully protected.
• If it splashes into your eyes, rinse with plenty of water for about 15 minutes and consult a physician immediately.
• Keep away from foodstuffs and children.
• The places that come into contact with the skin and hands should be washed with soap and water. In case of contact with eyes, consult a doctor.
• Immediately after application, before it hardens; tools should be cleaned with Tekno Thinner. Cured epoxy grout can only be cleaned mechanically.
