Teknofay Plus Ceramic and Tile Adhesive

Product description
It is a cement-based, polymer-reinforced ceramic and tile adhesive mortar with high adhesion strength and extended working time.

Usage areas
• It is used for horizontal and vertical laying of coating materials such as ceramic, mosaic, decorative brick, natural stone, travertine.
• It provides a comfortable application opportunity with its extended working time when applied on surfaces such as concrete, plaster, screed in wet areas such as bathrooms and kitchens.
• The surface should be primed with TEKNOLATEX 300 before the existing ceramic on ceramic bonding applications.

Application Instructions
Surface Quality: Surfaces should be clean, smooth, solid, free from all kinds of dust, oil, dirt, rust, mold oil, detergent, etc. Surfaces should be level, weak parts should be removed. If there are cracks or cavities on the floor or wall where the application will be made, they should be repaired with appropriate TEKNOREP repair mortars and Teknofay Plus application should be started after 3-4 days.

Surface Preparation: If ceramic on ceramic application will be made, the surface must be roughened. Teknolatex 300 can be used for this. The application should be made after the concrete floor is slightly moistened. It is recommended to use primer on surfaces such as aerated concrete, exposed concrete, plasterboard.

Mixing process: 6.5 - 7.5 liters of clean, clear water taken from normal ambient temperature is poured into a clean container that is free of any substance preventing adhesion. 25 kg of Teknofay Plus, in powder form, is slowly poured into the container filled with water. The product is mixed with a low-speed mixer until a homogeneous mixture without lumps is obtained. The mortar obtained at the end of the process should be rested for 3-4 minutes, and after it matures, it should be mixed again for 1-2 minutes until it becomes homogeneous. After the prepared mortar is spread on the surface with the flat part of the trowel, it should be combed with the toothed part of the trowel (8 or 10 mm tooth size) selected in accordance with the tile size.

Application Notes
• If there is a dusty surface behind the ceramic, it should be cleaned by washing with a hard brush.
• The prepared mortar is spread on the surface with a notched trowel with suitable tooth size. Coating materials (ceramic, tiles, etc.) should be adhered on the combed mortar within 30 minutes. If this time has passed, the mortar should be scraped from the surface and coatings and discarded. It should be applied by making ready mortar again.
• The product may cause irritation in contact with the skin. Work clothes, protective gloves, masks and goggles should be used. Before starting work, a protective cream can also be applied to the hand.
• In case of contact with the eyes, the eyes should be immediately washed with warm water and a doctor should be consulted.
• Applications to be made below (+) 5°C must be protected, covered with nylon or heat insulation plates should be laid to prevent the product from being exposed to frost.
• The application must be protected at temperatures above (+) 35°C, it must be covered with nylon or heat insulation plates must be laid to prevent the product from being exposed to sudden water loss.
• Joint filling should be started at least 24 hours after the application of Teknofay Plus.
• Water should not be added to the mortar that has expired.
• After the application, it should be protected against adverse weather conditions such as direct sunlight, strong wind, high air temperature (over +35°C), rain and frost.
• Equipment should be cleaned with water immediately after the application, before it hardens.

Storage Conditions / Shelf Line
It should be stored in its unopened original package, in a cool and dry environment, protected from frost. It can be stacked up to 10 layers.
